So I have a low science GPA coming out of college (more because of personal issues than a real inability to do well in these courses), and I'm currently enrolled in an MPH program. I wanted to get the MPH because I was intending to even if I had applied to med school. However I do want to address my low science GPA and take courses towards it before I apply to med school.

I came across UC Berkeley's online courses and I was wondering whether a) people have raised their science GPA through online courses and gotten into medical school and b) whether anyone has taken courses through Berkeley online.

i've taken bcmp hybrid courses (online but once every other week for labs). unfortunately, there is a stigma associated with online or distant learning classes (less so now than a few years ago though). my transcripts didn't specify if the class was distant learning or not so it was a moot point for me.

but my experience with online science classes is that they required more time than traditional classes. so it might not be the best way to raise a gpa. but that's just my personal experience.
