Online Secondaries

Are you submitting the secondaries that are up online before you get any sort of contact from the school? For example, Columbia's secondary is online but they sent an email acknowledging that I am a human person applying to their school. I've finished secondaries at Yale and Hopkins but I don't know if I should submit because I haven't heard anything from the school.

I believe, but am not 100% positive, that you can submit your secondaries to both Yale and Hopkins before being formally invited to do so. I submitted to both last year but I had already received contact from them. Other people I knew went ahead and submitted as soon as they could before hearing from them. I don't think it mattered either way (especially since at least Yale is non-rolling).

For other schools, you probably want to check for their specific application procedures.
