Hi there,

Am new to this site so here's my first post... Studying in the UK at UCL and am taking the USMLE Step 1 this year but need some advice on which online q-bank to use.

There's new one that Elsevier have launched called usmlesteps123.com that looks really good. free sample tests with lots of explanations and extra chunks of text from their medical textbooks (robbins pathology for one 🙂 ) and the scoring and results pages pick out specific topics that you;ve got wrong, not just disciplines. it's cheapr than kaplan too. what's the buzz on this one? not seen any opinions posted anywhere. how does it compere to usmleasy or kaplan?

kapaln are obviosuly where most people go, at least that's what I'm hearing, but they're kinda expensive for me. any thoughts? 😕

cheers, Mike

I am not good in citing proverbs. But it reminds me of an old proverb which is something like this: "A known devil is more trust worthy than an unknown angel" 😀

Kaplan is time tested and people have found it to be trust worthy for many years. The other one is new and people are understably skeptic. Ofcourse some one has to test its worth. But the question is who is going to take that risk? :scared:

are not all proverbs old? and if you speak of biblical proverbs, the one you describe is not listed. never trust a demon. always you can trust an angel. you actually gave a very poor analogy. 😴
