So I have Chad's videos + Destroyer. But after going through about 100 questions fo each subject, I thought it was too much for me and simply "memorizing" the answers without context (especially biology) seemed futile.

so for chem and orgo i decided to only ise chad's and his quizzes. Do you think 20+ on eac section is doable with chad's only? Or is destroyers a must?

It is doable but not advisable. You should get the content down with Chad's, Cliff's, textbooks, etc... and then master with Destroyer. Destroyer often makes the difference between an average score and a great score.

You are taking a big gamble. Use all the practice materials. The more questions you do, the more little details you pick up. I know it is exhausting, but you will see the rewards later. Good luck.

Think of it as an investment you are making, since the test is after all close to $400. The time you put in now to study the Destroyer problems will yield a high score, preventing you from having to re-take and spend another $400.

And even if none of the Destroyer questions show up on your actual DAT, mastering Destroyer is a huge confidence boost, and going into the exam confident will help you more than you know.

I advise you to not cut ANY corners.
Work out your study plan and follow it religiously.

Use all the resources you can find!

Unlike the above answers, I ABSOLUTELY think a 20 is achievable with just Chad. I wholeheartedly believe that I would have gotten the same scores if I had not used the Destroyer. I am very different from most, though. If you're aiming for 25+, I'd throw in the Destroyer just to be safe. Chad can certainly get you to a 20, though, provided that you THOROUGHLY understand what he is teaching. I did, and it made me feel that doing other stuff was a waste of time in retrospect.

You know how good of a student you are. You know how well you understand what Chad is teaching and can apply it. If you have faith in your abilities and can tell that you know it, you will do well. Since you already HAVE the Destroyer, though, I'd still go through it leisurely once or twice. Maybe you'll pick up a thing or two. Just keep in mind that it is not a predictor of your actual testing success--it is much, much harder.

Completely doable. Chad vids give basics, chad quizzes and destroyer show you tricky exceptions. I made 20 org and 20 gen chem first time I took the dat with only destroyer. Using chads vids this time so I'll let you know in mid June if it helped.

Hey quackwhacker, just curious. I thought you had already been accepted to dental school. Why are you retaking the DAT?

It is doable. I only used Chad's and got a 22 on o-chem and a 20 on gen chem. He's the best resource by far. Some people may need more practice, but it's not impossible, or that hard to be honest, to get a 20 or higher with just him.
