Hey there,

I am scheduled to take the MCAT on August 26th, and I am totally not ready and would like to push it back to January 2009. Is that not possible? I am guessing not since I did not see any links on the AAMC websites allowing me to. This would be my second reschedule.

If not, I guess I'll just take the to the wallet and end up taking it as a practice, and then at the end just hit the 'CANCEL' button. 🙁 When does registration start for the January 2009 exams? I'll need to register as soon as I can.

Why a second reschedule? I took my Kaplan course during my last postbac semester (org2, phys2, and A&P2) and did not do the required reading but went to all the classes. Big mistake. I wish someone had told me not to do that. I scored a 19 on my 3rd practice exam. I called and had them push it back but I spent my summer vacationing instead of studying. Now with the summer ending, I plan on making MCAT studying my priority, taking a part time job, and studying hard from now until January. It stinks that my online access will run out though.

I've read in a lot of other posts that Kaplan will extend your online access free for a few months if you call and ask them. Try it--you have nothing to lose.

You can't postpone your MCAT past the end of the calendar year. January's all fresh. So I suggest you look into cancellation, if you want to get any money back.

During a calendar year, you can postpone all you like for $50/pop, based on my experience.
