So I just registered for the NRMP a couple of days ago...THIS WAS AFTER I received an email from a program saying that:

"We are in the early stages of making our list to be sent to
the NRMP and were unsuccessful in finding your nrmp registration; please let
me know if you will be going through the match this year or perhaps you have
withdrawn your application."

does this mean that programs who have already started to rank will not see me in their selection pool? 😱 😕

call them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Call all places you plan to rank and let them know there was a problem but that it should be solved. Let them know to contact you if there continue to be problems.

Sorry for your misfortune, that totally sucks. Also, please know that this is only what I would do, and has no further credentialling than that.

Good luck:luck::luck:

PS at least you know that at least one program is ranking you!

so will the other programs see me as soon as i register or does it take some time?

....maybe aprogdirector can help me out on this one too?

Hi all ,

Even I have same question regarding late NRMP registration.

Can please someone shed light on this issue

Should I call programs and inform that I have registered late ?

Thanks

As soon as you register, you'll appear in the NRMP system. It's still very early for ranking, I doubt many programs have really started. You can certainly contact programs and tell them, although it's hard to know if that will help. If a program has not ranked yet (which is likely most), then saying anything can't help and can only (possibly) hurt. If a program has ranked and didn't contact you, it's not clear that saying anything will help -- they may have simply decided to skip over you. I find this unlikely, though.

Thank you for the response...feel much better about this whole situation.

I'm late, but thankfully not as late as I thought.

okay still a little worried... If I were to call a few choice programs, who should I speak to and what should I say to them.

Would the coordinator have access to NRMP info?

I'm thinking of calling a few places on Monday just to make sure.

If they didn't contact you first, it's not necessary. Either they hadn't already made their list by the time you registered, or you weren't on their list anyway. In either case, you have nothing to gain and much to lose by calling them.

makes sense... do most programs usually wait until the deadline to finalize their lists?
