oor post-ii rates for uw?

hi!

i was fortunate enough to receive an OOR secondary for university of washington & have been looking through stats since i know they only give out few secondaries for oor applicants - i just wanted to see if anyone had any further insight/knowledge regarding acceptance odds as an OOR app if i get an interview? or can point me in the right direction 🙂

i didn't think i would get this far with this school so i'm just really excited about the prospects of going here because its not far away from my hometown and to be near family again would be fantastic :,) so im obviously trying to be realistic and find data so i don't get my hopes toooooo high and get ahead of myself. thanks <3

Getting an OOR secondary from UW generally tends to be a good thing, as based on their admission statistics

In 2023, of the 5233 OOR MD-only who applied, approximately 86 completed secondaries, 46 were interviewed, and 17 were accepted. So if you do out the math, the post-II acceptance rate is approximately 37%. Many schools have higher acceptance rates, sure, but a 37% chance given you receive an interview is much higher than the approximately 0.3% chance of being accepted when looking at the general pool.
