OOS pre-December interview at Colorado

So I was offered an interview at Colorado on November 12th. I know they don't take many OOS students, but if you do get an interview from OOS do you still have a decent shot at acceptance? Or do they only accept a small percent of OOS students they interview?

They are not very OOS friendly overall, and rumor has it this year is going to be even harder on OOS applicants. However, if you get an interview you have a shot.

If there's only a small chance of acceptance for the school, then I'm sure there's only a few that they interview for OOS, or at least the interview to acceptance ration is pretty decent. What I'm trying to say is, your chances are pretty good. Just to good on your interview. They wouldn't have given you an interview if they didn't want you to begin with. Be normal and be yourself. Just looked it up on one of doctoothaches sheets from 2010...it says they interviewed 175 OOS applicants and accepted 21.

That's 21 people they accepted and are now in their dental school. However, that sheet doesn't give the specific exact number of acceptances. Schools always accept over their seat availability since those 175 students they interview will also get accepted somewhere else too. So it is over 21 acceptances....probably twice as much as that.

I was hoping there would be a decent acceptance rate. I'm a little low on funds so I don't want to spend money to go to an interview with little chance of acceptance. Decisions, decisions.

I have an OOS interview. I don't think they have food. Does anyone know I should bring anything to the interview (resume, transcripts,etc)? I think they have everything from AADSAS, but this is my first interview and I'm not sure.

I went to Colorado's interview last year and I assume that it will be the same way. They have two groups, morning and afternoon. I did morning last year. Each interview group has about 20-25 people, so its not very intimate. They had lots of breakfast food and drinks out front. You will enter a brief meeting with everyone and will talk about the timeline of when you should hear back and how many instate and OOS they accept. Nothing very detailed... actually very vague.

Then you go back to the lobby and wait. You talk with about 3-5 Dental students as you waited for your interviews. Those dental students didnt appear to be assigned to certain interviewees, but rather were really there to just answer questions people had. Everyone goes in and out for two separate interview, at different times, so you could have a little space in between. After all the interviews you will take the tour with a group of students. Pretty basic... nothing like Tufts if any of you know what I mean.
