I have been doing research for a year. I didn't like it and dying to get in the hospital where I belong. I am a people person.

Any help would be appreciated.

Any open spots for PGY-1? I didn't get any spot in the scramble. Any kind of leads are appreciated.

Duke Family Medicine has some spots.

Which is all bull**** as the residents were assured that the program was doing well and was in no danger of being closed. This decision didn't come out of thin air. They weren't just sitting around yesterday saying, "Hey, I know, let's close the program." Typically beauracratic. Rather than giving the residents time to find new programs, sell their houses, and get things in order for next year they spring it on them like it's some sort of surprise.

You all know how I feel about beauracrats.

Sad, very sad. The number of people going into family from my school this year can be counted on less than one hand. Sad indeed.

The ironic thing is that there are many, many strong family medcine programs where the residents learn to do things like colonoscopies, minor surgery, and honest to gosh OB.

Via Christi in Wichita, KS for one.

I promise (well, you know) that by Monday I will have a post mortem of the program, the good and the bad, on my blog. I am doing OB right now so blogging has been light. I've been kind of quiet about it (mostly) out of respect for the Program Director who is a pretty good guy and to avoid hurting their chances in the match next year. Can't see how it matters now.
