I'm honestly a bit curious why one would transfer. There could obviously be a plethora of reasons. I assume dissatisfaction with the training the resident is receiving at his/her current program is the main reason.

There are several reasons one would transfer. It seems more popular among our medical colleagues. Granted our specialty is much minuscule... Personal reasons, being closer to family/significant others, dissatisfaction with the training available at the program, etc.
