im trying to gauge what post bacc programs i should be looking at (which ones do i have a shot at and which are out of the question):

my background:
senior undergrad at a top 10 LAC.
3.4 UG GPA(1830 SAT), majored in psych emphasizing neuro/bio.
Upon graduating I will have done extensive research (in neuropsych) and published 2 papers. Around my junior year, after working as a research assistant in a lab at stanford, I decided i want to go to med school, however, I still have to do many of the science reqs.

Right now I am looking at bmc/columbia/scripps as reaches (because they are strong/similar to my undergrad environment), but i was also trying to find some schools that i would have a more 'realistic' shot at but that would still provide a structured post bacc environment.
any suggestions would be great.
thanks!

Most people just go to what's closest to home/work. The name of the institution is largely meaningless. It's the grades in the classes and your original university that matters. That's because the universities will report both your cGPA and the university you got your bachelors in.

There is a rather large quality gap between Scripps/Goucher/BM and other postbac programs. A few institutions are on their way to becoming exceptions to that rule but, by and large, it still holds. Just something to be aware of.

The name of the institution is meaning-FULL to me (as is the environment and reputation of the program), and i want a formal program.

I like penn and have taken ugrad courses there but is it really a feasible option with my gpa/sat stats? and is columbia even an option? (I have an 1830 sat/3.4gpa from top lac and neuro research with a stanford lab.)...I am trying to avoid taking the GRE because I haven't used much of the material in a while, and dont think ill do so hot.

so my question is: are these programs a reality with these stats or do i need the GRE?

Penn and Columbia would be easy to get into for you but they aren't top tier. Bm/goucher/scripps will be tough with your sat score, you'd have to take the gre.
