Hi everyone. I’m pre-dental and I just graduated from csuf but I don’t have any prerequisites done for dental school so I’m planning to do open university at CSUF. I was wondering if anyone had done open university at csuf or anywhere else and was able to get into the classes they needed? How hard was it trying to get the classes you needed and which school did you try it at?

I did open university at CSUF! I took Ochem there, 301A & B (plus lab). I think it was relatively easy to get into the first session (but of course, priority goes to CSUF students), but the second session is where I had trouble and I was placed on the waitlist, along with most of the other open university students (I guess more CSUF students failed the second session than the first). So, I had to sign up to take the second session at CSULB, but luckily enough people dropped after the first 2 days that I was able to get into the second session at CSUF.

I did this over the summer, so the sessions were each only 5 weeks long and it was brutal. I did well (A and A- in lecture, A in lab) but you really can't afford to take other classes, otherwise your ochem grades will drop for sure
