i am currently deciding between the different brands of ophthalmoscopes and i have narrowed it down to 2 brands, keeler and welch allyn. could those of you that already purchased them share some feedback of which would be the better purchase if cost was not an option? also, how helpful is the pan optic? thanks in advance for your feedbacks.

thanks a lot! i appreciate the help.

Keeler all the way.

Definately Welch Allyn... and go for the Pan Optic. It will make your DO practical much easier.

IMHO the Pan Optic was made for MDs who aren't very good at direct O. I personally think its a wase of money. IU wouldn't allow it on practicals before, might be different now.

WA would be my last choice. While on faculty I used all the brands. The Heine and Keeler direct-o scopes are pretty comparable. I favor the handling of the Keeler ret over the heine.
