Opinion on another school list please!!!

Idk Rutger's oos acceptance % but if i remember correctly they aren't oos friendly. Tuft's LoR req you have to have a dentist attest to at least 40 hours of shadowing, a bio professor lor and a secondary science lor such as chem, biochem, math/physics (or pre-professional committee letter). What about adding LECOM?

I don't have a bio LOR so Tufts is out the window.. unless they take an orgo or chem LOR. I'll have to ask. I was thinking about adding LECOM! I'm just confused about the whole accreditation thing and I heard they had a very different approach in their curriculums. I'm not sure though. I most likely will add it to my list though since it's a FL school. Thank you for the reply!

If you don't have the requisites for Tufts, you could replace it with other privates such as Temple, UPitt, and/or NYU. The good thing about Temple and Pitt is that they are friendlier on the wallet than some of the other private schools.

Thank you I will look into UPitt. I was also looking at Temple also.. Do you think Upenn is too much of a reach because of my DAT scores?

It's hard to say. I can see what you see: your DAT is a bit low for them but your GPA is higher and your ECs look good to me. I don't think that anyone can tell you anything definitive because as much as numbers matter, admissions isn't a hard and fast numbers game. It's hard to tell how your application will come across without being familiar with how Penn evaluates applications.

I will tell you that I interview high school students seeking admission to my undergraduate university and this year I met a student who impressed me a great deal during the interview, but whose GPA, test scores, and extracurriculars were a bit lacking in what would generally be considered an ideal student to the college. I wrote her an amazing rec as well as pulled some strings and she ended up waitlisted and then denied. I think if it had been only one factor that had been somewhat lacking she might have been accepted.

I don't know whether Penn will be a reach for you or whether the rest of your package will impress them so much that the DAT won't matter as much in their minds. Therefore I encourage you to apply if you really want to go there. If you're not interested...well then you should consider replacing it with a different school that you want to attend. Again, it's up to you.
