Hello,
I know its quite late in the game given that ROL's are due in two days, but I am uncertain about how to rank UCSF. I would really appreciate any advice/opinions you can share with me to help with this decision.
Specifically, here are some of my thoughts I'd like you to reflect on if possible:
Residents: I was ignored by a few residents during a break I had in the day... they all seemed to be into their own thing, even those who were not working at the time. No one seemed outgoing or approachable. I have read a few reviews about pediatrics attendings having a similar attitude.
Multiple sites: I'm unsure of how I would commute to these different hospitals since I'm from the east coast and am not familiar with San Francisco at all.
Training and didactics: I have a positive impression. The residents seemed intelligent and engaged in morning report.
Facilities: Didn't get a great tour, actually. It was very rushed for some reason.
SF is a great city and would be a new adventure. My significant other was really keen on Stanford so I'd like to make an informed decision about UCSF before dismissing it based on a crappy day. Any opinions/advice you can share would be very helpful.
