So I am taking a required pre-med science class, and due to the swine flu, i ended up missing a whole bunch of the classes and thus, did poorly on my exams.

I have the option of getting a C+/B- in the class or I can take it for Pass/Fail ( and then retake in the fall of senior year for a grade)...

I am applying at the end of Junior yr (this yr) and really dont want a C to be factored into my science GPA. Does it look bad to med schools to do this and retake the class??

Thank you so much!

I would drop it and retake. You can explain that better than a C....🙂

I agree. Check with your school and see if they have a policy on medical withdrawals - they should. If you can do this, make sure you find out if it's notated differently on your transcript than a regular W. Also, have you tried talking to your teacher at all to see if there's any way to salvage your grade? I would definitely do that first before thinking about withdrawing.
