Hello, I've took the Kaplan course and I haven't been scoring too high
on the their practice exams. I've been studying really hard for months also. I've been trying so hard to push my Physics over a 300 🙁 but some questions are quite difficult. I've been reading the forums and I've read this opted test scores you closer to your actual OAT score. Is there only one opted test?

Test Preparation Materials and Sample Test?
Thank you and hope to hear from somebody soon!

Only one opted test I know of.

As far as the phys section goes, I scored about 50pt higher on the opted practice test than Kaplan, and about 70pt higher on the actual exam than Kaplan. (exactly 1 week from the kaplan and actual exam).

"Test Preparation Materials and Sample Test?"
What is that question regarding?

Thank you very much! I'm going to take the Opted Test really soon. I'm taking my OAT one week from now. Hopefully my results will turn out as well as yours zyg0te
Test Preparation Materials and Sample Test - That seems to be the only place to obtain the test, I believe.

Hey! I was having the same issues with physics. The Kaplan physics is REALLY hard and I was scoring REALLY low, as in 240/260 lol. Then I studied for about a week with the princeton review physical sciences book and on the Opted test got a 320 and then on the actual a 330. This isnt a GREAT score but..seeing as how low I was scoring on Kaplan it IS a huge difference compared to the kaplan tests.

So dont stress..and I suggest using princeton review more than anything (Kaplan notes are really bad)

Do you have a link to the Princeton review for physical sciences, can't find a current edition online to buy, which year was yours from?

Thank you! I'll try it although I have one week!

Hi I'm taking the OAT in Nov. This may sound stupid but what is the opted?

Hi I'm new to this site and i wanted to know if anyone has heard or knows of a website that gives reviews on which center is the best to take the OAT. THANKS

I had the same problem. On the practice tests I could never score above a 300 in physics (my best was probably a 280). I was super worried about a week before my test and then on the real test I managed a 360! Here's what I did: I bought the oat achiever and did all 3 practice physics tests. Don't worry about doing poorly on those - they are not predictive at all. They are way more computational whereas the real test is more theoretical. Just make sure you go through each problem and understand the solution, use it as a study tool more than a diagnostic tool. It apparently helped mucho!

Oh also, I found the physics SATII sparknotes (free online) to be really helpful when I came across topics I had problems with, so google that and check it out!

Keep working at physics, but try not to stress about it too much. 5 days before my exam I got a 270 in physics with a Kaplan exam, then on the real thing I got a 370. I mean, don't count on a 100pt jump, but you can expect your real score to be higher than your Kaplan score.
