Is it a general rule that you must answer the optional question on secondaries like UCSF's (the one that says is there anything else you'd like us to know)? Has anyone not answered it and still gotten an interview? I feel like I've said all I had to say in the other questions so I don't know what else to add. For example, I answered about hardships in the hardships question and I don't have any really low grades to explain. Is it OK to leave it blank? Can anyone suggest what topic they wrote on so I can get an idea?

I actually posted a thread like this earlier and people suggested that if I didn't have anything to say, I should leave it blank.

I ended up writing a little more about my research and I'm glad I did because the UCSF admissions director came to my school and said that we should take every every opportunity we have to tell them more about us... specifically, he said they wanted to know things that weren't on our aadsas or other parts of our secondary already.

hope that helps. 🙂

Thanks! I ended up talking about research too. 🙂
