Can I send in my application now and have my recommender submit their letter a few days after? Or do I have to wait for the letter to come in before I submit?

I know its takes 1-2 weeks for the application to process so I'd rather just submit now instead of having to wait for my recommender.

Yes you can. Just make sure you have sent your request for the letter to them because you won't be able to send it again. And make sure they will have it in by the due date you have created.
