  1. Pre-Optometry
Hey since I never applied on optomcas before, for the admission entry essay has different topic for each optometry school, so how are you suppose to write an essay for each schools? accumulate all the questions into one long essay? is any there word limit?

And I've been shadowing not too long now and I just don't know when I should ask the optometrist to write a LOR for me, I'm so shy when it comes to that lol. I read somewhere that they can submit the LOR without having me to..how does that work? Thanks for reading..and good luck

One last question,
Out of the 20 optometry schools, which schools are private?

Its easier to list the public schools (fewer):

IU, MCO, NSUOK, OSU, SUNY, UAB, UCB, UMSL, UH

This past cycle there was only one required essay. It was more or less a personal statement. You had the option to submit a different version of your answer to the question presented to each school, but you do not have to write separate essays for each school. I submitted the exact same essay to all of the schools. Yes, there is a word limit. With secondary applications, there may be a short essay or two.

As far for the LOR, you print out a copy of the form and give it to them or send it to them electronically. They return the form to Optomcas.

For the LOR - can I ask my professor/optometrist to write in paper and give him/her "rating of attribute" and then mail them to the Optomcas. I'm just confused about about how to proceed. I'm applying for 2011-2012 year. It may take upto 1 to 2 months to get a LOR. I just want to do them ahead of time that way I can apply early. Also, how long do we get to send the supplementary application back to the school?

Thanks for any info.
