Hi all!

OptomCAS has finally calculated my GPA (my transcripts were received on the 1st, so that was pretty fast!)!! Anyhow, I hope it's not a dumb question for me to ask, but is there anything else that they need to do before they mail my app to the different schools?

Nope, that's it! The processing and sent dates that OptomCAS has are the dates that a hard copy is actually sent out to the schools; all the schools that you applied through OptomCAS, however, can view your application at any time after you submit.

I had also recently applied as well. I sent my application to optomcas about two weeks ago and they officially mailed my application on 1/28, last thursday. It took them about 5 days to calculate gpa and mail it in. I was wondering about how long it takes to hear back from schools? I'm not sure how long is appropriate to wait before I go ahead and call the schools to ask about my status.

Oooh, I'm curious about this too. If we get an interview invite, will it show up on the school decisions status (along with a mailed letter, maybe?). I'm getting kinda anxious! lol

The schools will contact you. I have an interview in one week and there is nothing mentioned on my "School Decisions" portion of my Optomcas account... hope this helps!

I applied back in July, had interviews, got accepted, and I even accepted an offer and the school decisions section is still blank. When I applied, I also had to fill out supplemental apps and once I finished those, I asked the school if there was anything else they needed from me. I think I heard back from most of them within a month of submitting my OptomCAS app about interviews.

tresrisque, I'm glad you decided to go ahead and apply. Good luck!! I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who took the OAT and applied a little late. Like you, I also took my OAT in January and most schools don't have my official score report yet, but SCO requested that I fax or send a scanned copy of my unofficial report so that I can have something in my file. The other schools didn't say anything, but I went ahead and sent it to them as well. It was a good excuse to get in touch with with them and initiate some communication.

cheriemousse, Maybe you can just "call to confirm" that they received everything, and hopefully that will naturally lead into discussions about your status. That way you don't sound overly anxious, but merely want to make sure your application is complete.

Ellada25, I'm glad you mentioned that schools have access to your application once you e-submit it, because I was slightly alarmed to hear feedback on specifics about my application before it was even mailed out! I submitted my app on a Sunday, GPA was calculated by Wednesday, and it was mailed out on Thursday. They had my transcript for weeks, but they did not calculate the GPAs until I submitted my app.

My apps were mailed out today!
I've been checking my phone and emails often to see if any schools have gotten back with me. It's only been a few days, but I didn't know I'd get this excited 🙂
