I had good letters last year: I know because the people interviewing me told me that my LOR were good.

Do I need new letters to reflect my activities and employment during the past year (I have not been at school.)?

I've had this question too, and from what I can tell, it isn't a bad thing to get a new writer or two if you're activities have been medically oriented, although it isn't required if you had good letters before.

For most schools you'll need a couple more recs. I don't know why. For the school I'm reapplying to they require almost all new letters. It's almost impossible to find more professors who know me well enough to write something for me. Anyway, I'd say get a few more. Something from research perhaps? (if that pertains to you)
