Besides, Okuda and prep courses (I am doing AAEM) what else do people recommend for EM oral board prep? Tough thing is that I'm not even practicing EM anymore but need to be board-certified in EM so I can take my subspecialty boards. Thanks

Haha yup. I went straight from EM residency-->fellowship and never looked back.
If you aren't going to practice em, mind answering why you're even pursuing boards? Just a merit badge thing? Fallback option? 0.25 FTE?

He said he needs it to take his subspecialty boards in his last line; but bro - I missed that too when I read it the first time.

Odd to see that -that- is the case, but I guess that it is.

Yes unfortunately this is how it goes. I had to double check this bc I didn’t believe it at first. Makes no sense to me that I have to be board certified in EM to then get certified in another sub specialty that has literally nothing to do with EM but that is the insanity of medicine. Otherwise I wouldn’t be bothering with EM board certification.

Just do Critical Cases (criticalcases.com) - everybody I know who used it passed and said multiple cases were basically identical. Okuda is great, but I can't recommend Critical Cases enough bc you can study solo and it's interactive. Just pretend it's the real thing and not a game, don't shortcut your way through it. Be systematic
