Can someone give me more info on oral pathologists?

-How many more years of training do you need on top of completion of dental school?
-Is it competitive?
-Do pathologists perform surgeries on patients?

-Do pathologists perform surgeries on patients?

-3 year residency following dental school
-Not very competitive, especially if you're a US graduate, although you should still have decent grades/scores
-Some perform biopsies if they have patient contact, many work in university-based biopsy services
-Jobs at dental schools are limited, maybe 4-5 openings/year, but over 16+ grads/year
