Anyone know how hard it is to line up an oral surgery internship and the timeline to do so? My interest for oral surgery was developed a little late in the game and I know my chances of direct entry into a program aren't so great. As such, I likely will not be applying to programs for residency but I would like to apply for an internship for this time around. I notice there are some programs that require an application specifically for an internship and others that will use the PASS application. I'm just trying to figure the best way to go about about it. If anyone can shed some light on the process, please share.

Before match day, let programs know you're interested and send them all the materials they need (normally a C.V., board scores, transcript, and references). You can line up some internships before match day, but most are done afterwards. The key is to have all your materials ready and express your interest early.
