What do oral surgeons do for postgrad educations? Is it med school or dental school?
12YearOldKid said:It is a 4 year residency. Some programs offer you the option of going to the last two years of med school to get an MD in addition to your dental degree. Earning the MD is completely optional.
divertete said:I just wanted to clarify that you must complete four years of dental school prior to entering an oral surgery (OMFS) residency program. There are both 4-year (no MD) and 6-year (MD) programs out there.
