Hi everyone. I'm hoping someone has some answers for me. I was notified that I'm an alternate at Oregon State. Does anyone know what the chances are of getting in? I heard that they extend offers to more people than there are seats in the class, therefore people on the alternate list rarely get accepted. Anyone know the scoop?

You should PM Virginger...she's also on the Oregon State waitlist, but from what she told me, that list usually has good turnover...as in, people do get off and get accepted. And I'm pretty sure there's a thread for waitlisters and one for Oregan State applicants specifically. I'd provide the link for you, but I'm not that advanced! 😳

Congrats on Oregon State!!! I hope it works out for both of you guys! 👍😀

I was wait listed at Oregon State last year, but I never heard a peep from them. Here's last year's "Waitlist Survivors" thread, which shows only one person from SDN (an IS applicant) was admitted from the Oregon wait list: http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=810467&page=4

With that said, things change greatly from year to year, so keep your head high! Good luck to you. :xf:

I got in off the wait list in Oregon for the 2013 class (IS). I heard within a month from acceptances being sent out. I think in our class there are about 5 people in off the wait list from the rumors I have heard. One girl from a class below me got accepted 2 days before orientation (luckily she lived in Corvallis already!).

They send out a lot of OOS acceptances for few spots (60 for 16) but I don't think they do that for the IS spots. I believe they try to fill the spot with a similar student (ie. they don't rank you). Not sure if you are IS or OOS... keep your head up! It could still happen!

I really hope I get good news.:xf:

It looks like IS alternates are getting moved off the list and into the accepted pool. Lets hope we see some OOS alternates getting accepted.
