Hey. Is there any point in someone from Nebraska applying to Oregon?..it seems like a lost cause and a waste of money from what i have gathered from the d-school guide, especially when u read the part about residency preference.
thanks
For credibility sakes, why do you state OHSU is not very good? That is sucha blanket statement. If you really wanted to, you could state pretty much every school is not very good in some areas. In your humble opinion, for the sake of these pre-dents who are trying to make the best educated decisions they can, why do you claim Oregon is not very good? Do they score low on the National Boards? Is there very little clinical experience compared to most other schools? Are the professors arrogant and not very helpful? This is info pre-dents need to know to help make one of the most important decisions. Thanks.

goducks, wth is that thing in your avatar![]()
I have talked to several students who love it there and would not be happy anywhere else. So while goducks is paying twice as much as me to go to pacific I will be enjoying myself at OHSU.
and to the thread starter. you should not apply. first priority is goes to oregon residents. that takes up 60 out of 75 spots. the other 15 go to students from other western states that do not have a public dental school (idaho, montana, utah, alsaka etc..).
GO TINO😎
ShagaLot dont give in to his charms...it will only end in heartbreak.
I hope everything works out for you Turnerjo, some schools just arent for everyone. I didnt mean to bash your school, just giving an opinion of a current student. I am very similar to my brother so I figured I would have some of the same problems with the school that he did. You will definitely be a good dentist by going to OHSU.
I am doing the Army HPSP so the cost of Pacific wasnt a factor to me. Good luck with school next year.
Yeah I can clarify for you. My brother is a 3rd year at OHSU. HE was the one that told me not to go there. He cites a few of the things you mentioned like poor instructors, who dont seem to care for the students. Also funding for Oregon public schools is terrible, as tuition at OHSU will continue to increase. The work load, especially the lab work is excessive at OHSU. The school is very old, they say they are building a new dental school but it probably wont happen for 10 years, even the dean of admissions will tell you that. The biggest factor for my brother was the quality of instructors. If anyone wants any more information just let me know. You were right that I was vague, sorry.
Sounds like 99% of the dental schools out there. 😀
I hear nothing but good things from Pacific grads...maybe dental students are just complainers.
