Need help with org destroyer problem #271.
The question asked how many atoms lie in the same plane which was 8 for the first molecule and 6 for the next one.
Molecules that the question had was 1-methyl-3-oxo-1-cyclohexene & N-methyl-propanamide

For questions like this.....1. Identify the carbons that are sp and sp2. They will be in the same plane. 2. Next , ANY atom directly attached the these sp or sp2 atoms will also be in the same plane. 3. If resonance is a possibility, as in the case of an amide,,,,,draw out resonance forms. Apply these rules and hopefully you will follow the detailed solution that was given.
