HI guys, I was just wondering how are the molecules usually represented on the real DAT? The practice test I've been taking with Kaplan usually represent them in structural formula or condensed form which confuses me a lot and I constantly find myself having to write everything in skeletal (stick form) form to visualize better. Please help me out, those who's taken the real thing?? Thanks!

I would say both types are fair game. Practice converting one form to the other. Skeletal form is similar to structural form except C and H atoms are not directly written out.

Thank you, I am ok with skeletal form. It is the condensed form that I hate (ie CH3CH2H2=Ch2) things like that where all the atoms are written out. Do you come across a lot of those on the test?

The condensed form will show up on the DAT. I saw a number of them on my exam. Just practice visualizing them and draw them out. They're usually not anymore complex than your example.

Thank you! I will definitely start practicing them more.
