my instructor recommended i get a kit. i've been searching the web and they all look alike. is there a better one to get??? or does it matter as long as i have one?

i'm taking organic chemistry I. tia

It doesnt matter which one. I personally only used it once for enantiomers and such. If it helps u better to see in 3D then use it, if not and you can see it on the text then its a waste of money.

thanks. i'm trying to save money however i can

I have one somewhere. We were allowed to use them during exams and it helped me figure things out. It's easier to look at how it rotates when it's not on a piece of paper. Mine's a "molymol" by Prentice-Hall. It's been sitting on my bookshelf for the last 4 years. Maybe I should sell it on Ebay or something.

you got to use it on exams??? luckyyyy.

yeah you will only need the model kits for stereochemistry. after you get the hang of it, you should be ok without it in the future.

We also were allowed to bring the kit in for exams. I found it helpful in some areas organic chem 1. I don't remember the name of the kit, but it is in a green box and that was the one they were selling at the bookstore. I haven't used it since then; except one time to build dogs.

yeah i was supposed to get a modeling kit when i took organic....but then i ended up using someone else's so i never opened mine. i'll sell it to you if you want! pm me if you're interested 🙂

Ahhh yes, the infamous organic chem modeling kit. It actually helped me a lot when we did the dimensions and structures. Seeing it on paper was on thing, but being able to twist and turn and view it from all angles helps differentiate structures.

BTW, I have one for sale. I'll let it go for cheap! 🙂 Just help pay for shipping. PM me if you want it and we can work something out.
