Hello guys, how in the world does everyone keep their notes organised? It seems like with all these subjects it just gets outta hand and I often end up not being able to conveniently find what I need. Thanks in advance!

Typing up notes and putting them into virtual folders.
Big binders with dividers. Or multiple smaller binders. Separate notebooks.

But I fail at this too; I'm such a perfectionist, I'm always copying and recopying my notes. And taking lecture notes. And textbook notes. And notes on outside videos, lol.
After a while, I just blame everything on the Second Law of Thermodynamics, and convince myself that resistance is futile.

Easy, I don't take any.
😛 but actually, take notes on your computer if you can. Much easier to find stuff on there than in a notebook.

Microsoft OneNote works beautifully for this if you are taking notes in a word processor or annotating PowerPoint slides/PDFs.

I've been using endnote lately. Helps with sharing notes with a study group. You can annotate images from the lecture slides. I'm sure there is much more you can do with it too, but I'm not big on note taking so I haven't explored it much.

If lectures are in powerpoints then just take notes on there. Organizing files on your laptop is a lot easier than random sheets of papers

+1, also I recommend learning your way around Microsoft OneNote. It's basically a virtual journal with a lot of awesome features.

It varies from class to class. But in my 3 Bio classes I'm annotating power points. In Physics, I am taking notes by hand and have a separate section for where I do practice problems.

Can you put powerpoints in OneNote?

do you hand write notes or do it electronically? I hand write mine. I own one regular folder w/ 4 pockets and it keeps my notes organized

Binders and dividers. I don't like power-points, nor do I enjoy taking notes with a laptop.

Your med school academic advisor will be of more use than us. That is, assuming you are in med school.

Tablet + Notability + Backup on Google. Changed my life. 😛

printing out ppt's works well; make your notes over slides with postits (if there isn't enough room.) everytime a unit is completed, file all notes away in a paper pronged folder. this keeps notebook light, and every note youve made for the class is in the proper place if you should ever need to refer back!

I've just stopped taking notes. Too much hassle and I never end up using them.

In undergrad, I either took notes in a notebook (one per class) or I wouldn't take notes. Not a huge fan of taking notes on a computer because you can't draw things unless you have a tablet and aren't artistically impaired.

I use a notebook for each class, then when I study I type everything up from my hand written notes so I get the info twice at least (not to mention retyping notes, using shorthand, then mnemonics), but I keep it all in folders as well on my desktop.

I use a laptop for all lectures. Make a folder and then a subfolder for each class. New text file each day with the topic as the title. This way when you need to review a specific thing, you can find it right away.

I'm accustomed to high school, binders , dividers, and lose-leaf paper.
