Orgo question, please answer??!

This may seem like a dumb question, please take a look at the picture to see molecule.

1-t-butyl-4-methyl-cyclohexane

If both groups are above or both groups are below the ring, are these still the same molecule? Since the bonds cannot rotate, I was thinking they are different molecules? Are these stereoisomers/diastemers?

Based on the way you have it drawn it looks like the same molecule. The second one is just flipped over and rotated.
 
Yes they are the exact same thing, they are different conformations. Just make sure you understand which one is more favorable and why. Try to visualize the chair conformation. Remember Axial and Equatorial?
