Hey all,

title says it all: 3.85 cGPA, 3.8 sGPA, Health Administration and Molecular Bio double major at UC Irvine. 521 mcat.

here are my EC's:

Research: ~3000 hours, submitting a first author pub and a mid-author pub, may or may not be accepted by time of application submission. poster presentation, small internal grant. undergrad thesis+masters thesis. probably the strong pt of app.

Volunteering: ~300 hours clinical, cookie cutter
~200 hours as an officer for service club
~120 hours as a TA
~100 hours going to Philippines to run clinics
~200 hours working with special needs children
~40 hours shadowing

As of now, here is my list:

UCI
UC Davis
UCSF
UCSD
UCLA
Stanford
USC
NYU
Columbia
Dartmouth

Obviously, this list as of now is quite top-heavy. Would like to go to a t20 school. Please let me know if I have a shot at these schools, esp. UCSF/Stanford. Would also appreciate any suggestions for where else i should apply!

Thanks!

I would also include some mid range schools/your state schools, I see a lot of cases where people have good stats but have to apply again because they only applied t20.

Also maybe 10 more hours of shadowing a family doc?

Get in more service to others less fortunate than yourself, and a bit more clinical experience.

I suggest:
NYU
Vanderbilt
WashU
Yale
JHU
Northwestern
U Chicago
U Penn
Columbia
Duke
Harvard
Sinai
Cornell
Stanford
U MI
U VA
BU
Case
Mayo
Pitt
ALL UCs, but UCR IF you’re from the Inland Empire
UCSF
Hofstra
Ohio State
U Cincy
USC/Keck
USF Morsani
Albert Einstein
Dartmouth
Emory
Rochester
Jefferson
Miami
U IA
U VM
Western MI
CalU MD (NOT CNU)
Kaiser if they're taking apps

Thank you Goro, much appreciated. so, in terms of t20, if I apply 30 schools would you recommend me apply 15 as t20 and 15 mid-tier? I'm a bit concerned due to the lack of an "X-factor" on my app, although my research is strong and I think I have a coherent narrative.

Thanks again

That would be my recommended mix, PLUS your state schools! Faha has a good list above of Keck and Einstein class schools worth targeting.
