I know it's the small field so it's understandable that information about it, even on here, can be lacking. But I wanted to know if anyone here could provide insight into the entry requirements for such programs. Such as grades, research experience, clinical experience.

I've been in private practice a few years now. For the past year I've been looking into applying to some of the programs out there (Rutgers, Buffalo, Tufts, UK, USC etc...). I would appreciate any insights that any of you might have.

Also I know there are online programs such as USC, but I would prefer a traditional residency setting.

Is there much call for a "Dental Pain" specialist?
(It sounds like you would be getting all the difficult patients no one else wants.)

Primarily due to an interest in teaching, I'd like start teaching part time at least. And I'd like to help students with more than prep checks.

Also, I really like treating that patient population. I find it very rewarding.

I have enough referrals to keep you in business for several millenia.
