i'm thinking about getting braces from the ortho department at my school. Do residents have enough experience to know what they're doing? esp. if they're foreign dental school grads?

You will be fine…even if the treating resident is from a foreign school. The ortho instructor makes all the treatment decisions. You will be scheduled to see the same resident and instructor every month.

You can also wait until you graduate. If the local orthodontist knows you’re a dentist, he/she will probably do your braces for free.

I too am looking to get some ortho work accomplished while in dental school. I've waited this long, dont think i want to wait until after d school, especially if i'm working treating pts in the real world. I hope that it wont cost much out of pocket. Anyone from Penn know how dental tx works?
