How popular is orthokeratology? Is it a good alternative to some lasik patients?

It is gaining in popularity, but it's a relatively small peice of the pie compared to laser surgery. I wouldn't necessarily say it's an alternative, but it complements the refractive options you can present to your patients. Depending on your region you'll find ODs and contact lens fitting opticians fitting OK lenses ... (some ophthos). I've personally been doing OK lenses since graduation, and have been wearing the lenses myself for the past three years with no complaints whatsoever.
