II am hoping to take my boards in early 2013 and was planning to attend the OSLER.
I have a copy of audio and pdfs in our institution but they seem like old.

Can anyone suggest on if it is worth attending. Has the course material changed a lot.
Can anyone share the latest material if possible

regards

I did not go but luckily I passed on my first try. HOWEVER I strongly recommended to the people who took it after me to attend. I have convinced some review course naysayers into going with the following reasons.

1) You are used to pressure situations in tests, but this is a whole different animal. If you pass you have a much better chance of getting a job.

2) The course is a nice way to get away from your daily grind and start studying for boards. You are immersing yourself in boards and getting in the mindset.

3) I have seen different training programs, low, mid and high tier, and no matter where you go, there are holes in your training. Osler can help plug some of those.

It doesnt have to be Osler. Try one that is cheaper and close by. I would just recommend doing whatever you had to do to pass this test.

If you can afford it and you have time for it, then go for it.

It's best to overprepare and make the board your biatch.

The audio tapes/Mp3s are good for commutes or when you exercise. Even if they are 5-10 years old a lot of the information hasn't changed. ABO doesn't change, how to do those chemical tests to classify bacteria haven't changed.

Supplement with Osler and the Compendium and your good to go.

I used the Osler audio/pdfs to study and passed. I supplemented it will question books (i.e. Leftkowitz). I think our institution had the 2010 version, so it was relatively new. But I have used the 2007 and 2004 versions and they're pretty similar. Some of the lecturers have changed, but the material doesn't change all that much. It was definitely nice to listen to it on the way to/from work. I managed to get through each lecture at least twice. Some of my weaker areas I did 3 or 4 times.

Heck, though, if you have the money and the time, go to the course!
