I have a computer neophyte friend who is seeking info on allopathic orthopedic surgery programs that are DO friendly. He would like any info on the competetiveness surrounding allopathic residencies, DO friendliness, any "sure thing" locations, etc. Any other advice would be appreciated! 👍

1. Zero "sure thing" locations for allo applicants with 275 usmles scores.
2. Lots of "zero chance" locations for any osteo applicants.
3. How can you be a computer neophyte and be starting a career in medicine. I'd be wary of interviewing an applicant for dogcatcher, no less orthopaedics, if he didn't know how to use a computer.
4. This subject has been spoken to many times on these boards, as well as the orthogate boards. I suggest searching the archives of both resources.

I didn't do his background justice but was being brief. I have done a search of the old threads and don't see the names of many programs about which people have knowledge. I was hoping for some specifics....

That's probably (ie speculating) because there aren't any programs. Allo ortho is hard enough for allo to match into; it's near impossible for osteo to get in. To be sure, a few do every year, but this is by far the exception.

There are indeed threads on this site and orthogate that give more info than you have thus far found.
