Why doesn't AACOM put out an Osteopathic MSAR? I know they have that thing on their site, but something extra like what the AAMC puts out would be nice. Or am I missing something? 😕

My copy of the AAMC MSAR has both MD & DO schools, but it is a number of years old.

LECOM is NOT in a rural area, it is a city of about 100,000+ people, not exactly a New York or Chicago, but still definately not rural.

One other thing that doesn't seem right on that list, LECOM is NOT in a rural area, it is a city of about 100,000+ people, not exactly a New York or Chicago, but still definately not rural.

lol, maybe anything less than 1 million is rural for whoever wrote that -- it's not only rural, it's "very rural." 🙂 the list also has a lot of duh stuff, like the con for osucom is that it's in oklahoma. umm, yeah, i figured that one out. i'm also wondering how current their figures are since kcumb, lecom, etc. don't release their data.

What year was that published?

Well I don't have it with me, but it was either 2002 or 2003.

yeah, it was kinda old, i should have looked at it more carefully.. at least it gave you all a good laugh.....my bad

I don't think it was actually ever "published" more like compiled by a fellow board member and made available to others from what I can recall.

Actually, I just got a 'msar' type book in the mail from AACOM. It has info about every school and a lot of info and statistics about osteopathic medicine in general. My book is dated 2006, and they have PCOM Atlanta, so I think that it is pretty recent. You can get it free too, just go to the AACOM website. It does take like three weeks to come though.

It's a nice book to own. Except it doesn't list the stats of each school like MSAR does. Also you can get the information in that book from their web site as well.
