Im an MS3 and have some questions about osteo ortho, any real genuine help would be appreciated.

Audition rotations... Are they necessary at all locations? Meaning, should I only apply to programs where I actually did a rotation? Which programs put more weight on your rotation month? I've gotten the runaround so far... "Rotations are not 'required', but highly recommended"

Grades... How important are they, which programs have hard cutoffs? I've seen one program say, "must be in top 40% of class" while other more competitive programs say nothing of grades. Reason I'm asking, I am in bottom 25% of my class but got a 642, have some research experience and have always had an interest in ortho, but don't want to waste my time because of my class rank.

Thanks in advance

Your boards will put you in an acceptable range. Rotations are the single most important part of the osteopathic process; both for you and the programs. I'd only rotate at places you are want to rank high. Work hard, don't be a douche and you'll be fine.
