Anyone know when OSUCOM starts sending out interview invites??

Probably pretty soon...maybe in a couple of weeks. They usually begin interviewing in mid Oct, although last year it was towards the end of Oct. I believe that I got called for my interview about a week in advance, but don't hold me to that as it has been a while.

Interviews go through March. They do rolling admissions, accepting a certain # of interviewees from that month and also reviewing & accepting people off of the waitlist each month (once they have a waitlist).

I'd be happy to answer any questions you have about the school. 🙂

Thanks, Dr. Mom! I was wondering....I don't have the best MCAT score (22 from April---retook in Aug.), and my GPAs are 3.6 and 3.5, overall and science respectively, so I applied as early as I could. Do you think they'll go ahead and interview students with better numbers, and wait longer to interview me? Also, how long after your interview were you accepted? I'm really nervous about it all because OSU is the only school I really want to go to! I've shadowed 4 DOs that either came out of or are affiliated with the school, and they were great! Anyway, if you could just give me a heads up that would be great! Thanks! 🙂

They'll probably wait for your Aug score to come in. They tend to interview higher applicants first, although this isn't a firm numbers issue. OSU is definitely one of the schools that looks at the entire package.

Since Oct and Dec are only partial months of interviews, most of the interviews occur after the new year.

How soon you're notified after an interview depends on when it falls in the month. They make their decisions after the last interviews of the month, so if you are early in the month you'll have a longer wait. Also, OSU is a school that really pulls lots of people off of the waitlist (about 1/2 of each entering class spent some time on the waitlist), so that's not a bad thing either.

I'd recommend that you talk to someone in admissions once you get your MCAT score to be sure they get that information noted on your app.
