Hey to all OSU dental student's, what is the class schedule like for the first year? On their website, the D-1 curriculum makes it seem like you're only in class from 1030-430 on a couple days, but at the interview they made it seem like it was 8-5 everyday of just classes. Also i'm kinda curious as to how the first year is in terms of class difficulty. Thanks in advance.

well i just found kind of what I was looking for in terms of the schedule, but it was in a different section. Now im just wondering how manageable the classes are, and or how you like them so far.

Pretty much expect to be there from 7.30 till 4.30 and then after hours. There is always something to do. Classes are difficult but the curriculum is changing so things are becoming better in terms of class workload.

Looking back (as a D4), dental school is what you make of it. You can learn as much or as little (enough to pass). You CAN have a social life, and expect to spend a decent amount of time with your peers in class, clinic and social activities.

First two years are difficult- but that is dental school and the nature of the beast. You will be doing things that to most people take time and experience to learn and dont be discouraged when other ("the naturally gifted") find it easy when they pick up a hand piece or when its test taking time.
