Okay, so I had assumed all through my undergrad career at OU that I would go on to an allopathic med school, but then heard about OSU (I was planning on attending OU) and how it was actually ranked 👍 (unlike OUCOM 👎 )...so, anybody have any thoughts on OSU, if ya like it or not or what, and is it better, worse, or comparable to OU? Thx; nice to have a resource where indecisive ppl like me can ask questions like this

take a tour of the school and see if you like it =).
Smaller class size vs larger one, their both not in the best spots of town =D. Forget rankings go see which environment you like and their match list which i still can't find on either school.

Yeah, I'm really glad I chose to go to OSU-COM. I initially had an interest in both schools. Private message me if you have some specific questions, and I can give some specific answers.

Abe's advice is good. Check out both schools and choose the one you think would be a better fit for you.

Like OSUdoc08, you're welcome to PM specific questions to me.

Also, you might want to do a search of the pre-osteo and osteo forums to find out what people have posted about OSU-COM before.

Sweet, I will...thanks guys! Oh, also quick Q (I hope it's not a repeat), what kinds of grades/mcat scores did you all have to get in to OSUCOM? I have a 31S / 3.7, hoping that's good enough.

Thanks again!

statwise your good =), above average i'd say, now get to talk about osteopathic medicine, and be sure to shadow a D.O, and get a letter from them. Some ppl use M.D. Letters, but i dont think it shows that your that interested in the school if you cant even take a day to shadow a DO

It sucks, I would never go there.

Okay, I do go here and it is great, for the most part. Every school has its (+) and its (-), right? I was very well prepared in the basic sciences and well prepared for clinical medicine also. It is hard to ask for much more.

33S, 3.6 from out of state. I think our average MCAt is between 26-27 and our GPA's hover in the 3.5 region.

31, 3.7 undergrad, 4.0 grad

Idio's report of our averages is right.

As Abe said, you're going to need a DO letter of recommendation. OSU actually requires a DO letter, but you can send in an additional MD letter.
