Hello everyone! It has been quite awhile since I used this forum but I am so grateful for finding this forum. Without this forum, I would not have gotten into an OT school. So far, OT school is challenging, yet, I love what I learn. I just completed the academic portion and now about to start fieldwork level 2.

I hope I am not breaking any forum rules here but I want to inform any current and prospective OT students with disabilities about a Facebook group I created with another OT student in UK. Together, we started DisabilOT - OTs with disabilities (https://www.facebook.com/groups/DisabilOT/) to provide a platform for OT students and practitioners to offer support and networking while also sharing tips and tricks; anything that's helped to manage your health while working in OT. I am a student with disability myself and there are over 200 members from numerous countries, including the US. There are fabulous discussions from OTs and OT students with various conditions, and how they have managed to work in the field. This is a closed group so if you are interested, click to send a request and we will add you in! If you have any questions, feel free to post or send me a private message.

Thanks!

My Pleasure! I know I was so lost before deciding on my career because I had so many questions. This group is relatively new so spread the word to who may benefit from it!

I have a learning disability, but I found out a bit late.....I would love to join your group!

@Confusedandlostone There are plenty of OTs and OT students with LD. I suspect I have one too, need to get tested. Feel free to join the group! The Facebook link is provided in my original post.
