www.about.com and then type in search veterinary forums.

then go to pre-veterinary forums

It's as bad as this one , not much s going on any way, seems vets do not like to help each others any way

I don't think this forum is particularly bad and I would have to disagree that vets, or vets-to-be, dislike helping one another. First off, there are fewer of us than say the med school boards, I can think of maybe 15 or so people that regularly (as in every week or so) post to this board, let alone visit it frequently enough to answer 2 day old posts, like the one that's being complained about. Also, the vet school application just recently became available, so besides trying to cram in experience hours and get ahead on summer classes, many of the people on this board are already working on and perfecting their application for this year. And as a side note, criticizing the members of this forum for not answering your posts doesn't seem like the best way to get a response out of them...

wow I am very surprised with the speed I got an answer now , See that is what I am talking about exactly, When it comes to defending things or talking about things that do not matter the responce is very very fast and when it comes to giving advice to some one on any matter it might take forever or may be never even!!!!

I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make anyone upset. I wasn't complaining that nobody answered my vet tech question. I was only asking this question because I was hoping to find another place in which to find more info about the field. My apologies.

Don't worry about it, vanderboots. There are some who like to jump on posts and take it to a bad place. It happens ... on occasion. 🙄

As far as active forums, it's this one and the about forums. I think there are a few groups that are in yahoo, and MSN, but they don't update very often. They also have spam in them. I got a few in digest, but I got tired of the extraneous crud.

I'm not upset, I was just defending the people on this board... 🙂 The timing of my post was only a coincidence as I had just gotten home from work and was reading through the boards, not a rapid fire response to "defend" or about "things that dont really matter"...

Hmm, dr_amer98 it may be that people aren't responding because they don't know the answer to the question. It's not like anyone on here has the answer to everything in the universe, if they did they would be rich, famous, and probably not on this board.

Aside from that, vanderboots, do you have a blog? I know that livejournal has a few veterinary communities and other blog site probably do too. You also might want to check out some forums that are specifically just veterinary, but maybe animals in general.

Vanderboots, check out http://www.vin.com - that's my favourite veterinary group. But it's only for vets or vet students (free for students, expensive for vets - but worth it). The "Veterinary Information Network".
