If the school is recommending get a mac, then get a mac. And honestly, you will get a accurate answer by calling the school not asking random strangers on the internet.

Sorry if this post was confusing but I'm not asking random strangers, I asked those students who are at Oklahoma. The school recommends the mac, i believe because the systems that they use are macs. but the packet they sent said that it needs to run windows. That's why I wanted their opinion. I would have specified my circumstances if I were asking random non-OK SDNers.
I'm gonna buy a Mac. But it also says in the packet that we will be having a computer orientation class and they said that some students benefit by waiting until after that class to purchase one. That's what I'm going to do.
Hi, I bought an iBook G4 (Mac) about two years ago and I'm going to upgrade my memory card and keep it for school. If you've taken a tour of OU, then you probably saw that all of their computers are Macintosh. You are going to be using Macintosh programs and there are techs to help you with your Mac. On the sheet that they sent us they said that it needed to run Windows or 10.4 (Mac). You don't have to have Windows, just Office (which you can buy for Mac). I have used PCs my whole life and, since purhasing a mac, will never use anything else because of its functionality and reliability.
