So I'm going to be applying to dental schools after I graduate. When I was a sophomore, I applied to an early assurance program to a medical school. This was before I explored dentistry as a career. I was rejected from the program and in retrospect, I'm glad because I've discovered that I like dentistry as a profession much more.
I've never taken the MCAT or started an AMCAS app. Do you guys know if I need to say that I've applied to medical school before in this instance? The program was basically one where if you were accepted, you were guaranteed an acceptance when you applied as a senior on the AMCAS.
I don't want to lie. How badly would it hurt me if I have to say yes? I have good grades (3.9+ sci/ns GPA) and a good DAT so I don't think it would appear like I'm using dentistry as a fallback.
What would you do if you were in my shoes? 😕
