Well my father (an MD) and I were talking the other day about progress in my osteopathic applications and he asked me a heartbreaking question:
" So, did you apply to medical schools too?"
I gave an angry and overreacted response " I AM APPLYING TO MEDICAL SCHOOLS!"
Oh well, it kinda hurt to hear that but then again, he's an MD licensed and practicing in the U.S. but moved here from a foreign country just 20 years ago and didn't know much about D.O.s.
His response was, " well I meant M.D. not medical"... 😱

Don't worry about that too much. I believe many times people who don't know much will refer to it as just DO school and not as medical school. It's a common mistake and just one little annoyance I guess you may have to put up with.
