out of country Psy.D's

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
The Psy.D. is a degree that only is given out in the United States....

While it's technically part of the U.S./it's own country, there are two in Puerto Rico (Carlos Albizu University in San Juan & one at the Ponce School of Medicine)..that's about as international as it gets.

CSPP has a joint program in Hong Kong with a local university. It is of course not APA accredited.

Many foreign universities offer PhD's in Psychology (e.g. neuropsych, cross-cultural, child, etc.) but I don't think any offer something similar to the PsyD as it is known in the States. Some universities in the UK offer Clinical Psychology doctorates but almost all these programs are funded by the National Health Care Service and as far as I am aware, students are not able to fund their own course of study as the doctorate includes training under the NHS. Based on the funding requirements, it is pretty difficult for non-British and EU students to get in.
Hope this helps.
I also recommend that you visit Psychological Association websites from other countries to get further information.
All the best!

there was one in the carribean, but the degree was literally outlawed by a few states. doubt if it is still around.

There is a similar (but different) degree offered in the UK (and some Commonwealth countries). It is a D.Clin.Psy. (Doctor of Clinical Psychology). I would check out the British Psychological Society's web page, they would have more information.

There are a couple in Quebec (Canada), although they tend to be French-language.
